The painting ‘Supporting Major Oak' is based on the famous oak tree associated with' Robin Hood' and his merry men, who robbed the rich to give to the poor. The tree, which has now become a tourist attraction, is over 800 years old and is supported by scaffolding to prevent it from subsiding and disappearing from history. The artist has become increasingly aware that what remains has been selectively preserved for tourism and heritage. |

Seven Seven artists,
Julie Cockburn, Andrew Griffiths and Camilla Wilson were selected for the prestigious Artsway 07 Open. Andrew Griffiths has also been selected for the Jerwood Painting Prize
