Michael Vogt

Michael Vogt' s large photographs of abandoned industrial space portray a romantic and heroic view of industry. The clarity of the images reveals their history and the poignant abandonment of the premises poses questions about the former employees and the subsequent social and environmental consequences.

The clarity and simplicity of the images is continued in Roman Churches where the viewer shares in the contemplation of the spaces. Recent work made from photo-collaged elements retain Vogt's signature formality but present difficult images from war zones.
